This endeavor was about a lot of firsts.
1. My little mans 1st birthday.
2. First time I did a 2 tier cake.
3. First time I prepared Swiss Meringue buttercream (SMB).
3. First time I worked with fondant.
Like I said, a lot of firsts. And I was terrified throughout the 2 days I took to get the cake ready. I was even dreaming about butter, sugar and my hand mixer.
The cake was a two tier cake. Both the tiers were a combo of vanilla and chocolate cake iced with vanilla SMB. Which was then covered and decorated with vanilla fondant.
